The challenge

The objective was to ensure compliance with the Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations and industry standards.

VMO2 required assurance that Principal Contractors were fulfilling their duties according to CDM regulations. The audits aimed to provide evidence of compliance, minimise project risks, and empower project managers to hold contractors accountable within their datacentres.

Our approach

  • Processes and standards

Assessed site processes, procedures and VMO2 standards within the datacentres.

  • Construction Phase Plan analysis

Analysed datacentre activities against the Construction Phase Plan.

  • On-site evaluation

Evaluated safe systems of work, interviewed key personnel and carried out on-site observations.

  • Recommendations

Identified areas of non-compliance and recommended improvements.

Outcomes & impact

  • Detailed reports highlighting observational and process risks within the datacentres
  • Immediate actions taken to resolve short-term issues, with significant investment discussed for long-term improvements
  • Compliance with CDM regulations and enhanced overall project safety in the datacentres
